Hot Wheels Blackwalls '77 - '90
Probably our favorite era of Hot Wheels. This is the timeframe between redlines (ended in 1977) and the introduction of the blue carded numbered blister packs (around 1990 or so). I will be dividing the pages up by manufacturer for licensed products and then by casting for the Hot Wheels designs. I have a separate page for Real Riders, so they are not included here.
There are a few wheel types during this time frame. They started out with the basic wheel (bw) and added Ultrahot wheels (gold and silver chrome), construction wheels, and finally Hot Ones in gold and silver chrome. After this era, the folks at Hot Wheels went crazy for wheel variations, but during this time it was fairly easy to keep up.

We have also decided to just put the cars here in alpha order, as we are not sure what will be easier to figure out.
Stay tuned as we experiment with format...

A-Ok
The casting molds for the A-Ok famously broke as the Real Rider series came out, with just a few cars being produced with Real Rider wheels. These two variations are pretty easy to obtain even after all these years...
