Until next time
As I have time, I will post here for newest additions to the hoard/collection here at Little City Toy Cars..
So, work has gotten the best of us here at the Hoard. We will be posting more going forward. Recent finds: We could post hot wheels and matchbox mainline cars all day long as we buy many every week for the hoard, but this posting is about the unusual. First up is a mint Fire Chief Cruiser Scorchers for Hot Wheels, around 1979. Good but at less than $10. The Blue Nissan Skyline is a Tomica as well as the White Toyota 86. We love car carriers and are happy to add the Matchbox one from the late 60's. Came in a lot with some other King Size trucks. The Zingers Black Mustang was pretty common in the stores, but we ha to have it. The Ford GT 40 Gulf is pretty tough to get at retail, we were happy to snag one. The Mustang is a Gran Toros model missing a bit, but again was a bargain price, the 2 redlines were upgrades, but the coolest car was the red Porsche 917 for only $11. It's a European brand and very clean.
Until next time

We had a big layoff as we were getting our ebay store built out, but we are back in business showing off new items added to the hoard. We constantly are looking for the different and the unique items at a value price, searching ebay and locally. The Hoard is pretty eclectic, with pickups all over the board! There has bee a ton added, so lets get right to it. As you can see, a bit of variety. The Hot Wheels Redlines are all Ebay finds: a Maserati Mistral in aqua, Custom Corvette in orange, Classic 36 Ford Coupe in Green, Moving Van in Blue, King Kuda club kit in Chrome, and a great Tribaby in salmon pink. The Torpedo Gran Toro was another Ebay find, at only $40 shipped, and the Vanagon came in a lot from Australia at $45 shipped with four other cars. The Volkswagen T2 from M2 came from Walmart a couple months ago, and we found some great Matchbox pickups, including the Land Rover Defender, the Toyota Camper Pickup and the Range Rover Evoque. The best buy was the Bburago Toy Fair Volkswagen Golf R32! This was found at a comic show locally for only $2, and we were able to purchase three of them!
We are starting our display project this week, so there will be some updates on the blog showing how that is coming along. Thanks for checking in... We picked up a lot of cool hot wheels, let's get right to the pics! First up is the World Race Switchback, a great deal on ebay from a good seller, $2.99 plus shipping, not bad! The two redlines were very clean in a lot of three cars for $35, the Deora in person is easily worth that! LOVE the Mustang SVO, we didn't even realize they made that in the Hot Ones line. The three Flying Customs are just filling in to try and start a complete packaged set. We found the two Euro Tune cars at Walmart yesterday. We are really watching out for the Volkswagen GTI MK 7....that one had already been grabbed, unfortunately. We'll see if we can get it at retail! We did rack up some other cars that are not Hot Wheels.... The National Parks Scraper adds to that collection of Matchbox cars in the series. It is one of the coolest modern collections you can get into, in our opinion!
The two Johnny Lightnings were an ebay impulse buy, but at $8 total shipped, they were too cheap not to get them. Now the question is will we pursue more? We sold off all the Johnnies we had about five years ago, including some decently rare ones, so we are not sure where we will go with those. The Challenger is a 1:43 scale Yatming, very cool and actually reasonably common. The Porsche 917 is a Corgi Whizzwheels in 1:43 scale as well. We have others in that group that will eventually be pictured in the Hoard... The last pic is a quick pickup of a couple Speed Racer cars. We have most of those at this point, but there were some set cars that were made that we may pursue. More pics are on the way for that sections in Hot Wheels Land! Hello again! Greetings from Little City Toy Cars! We have been very busy the last few days with all sorts of arrivals. Here are some peeks. Picked up some vintage hot wheels on Ebay over the last couple weeks... We are always happy to share how much we paid for anything, you can always ask! Anyway, the Flying Colors Forest Service Truck was an amazing $5 plus $5 shipping, the Magenta Jet Threat was in a lot of cars for $17 (we may sell the others, so it should be free), the TNT Bird was a huge upgrade for $36 shipped, and the magenta Grass hopper is better than the pics, a steal on eBay for around $12 shipped awhile back. Just got back from one of the local antique stores and scored these two haulers! The first is a Siku, just had to have it for only $4. It is a solid piece of metal for sure! The second is a Hot Wheels Speed Racer hauler from 2006. Again, only $3, so had to have it. The bottom extends up (as you can see) and the back pivots as well, creating a launcher for the vehicles. A ton of fun play value in that truck! We scored this Hot Line/Sizzlers train set in the original box last week for $20. The train case is rarely found or even seen anymore (take a look at eBay, you'll see), so it was an exciting find! The engine was missing, but can be picked up all day long on eBay, and the other cars are dead mint. Score!
That's all for now, we also picked up a bunch of current cars, so they should be posted soon! Decided to go on a trip to several walmarts in my area on Thursday. I used to do this all the time (back in the day) but lately not so much as there is not a ton of stuff I am looking for. Hope springs eternal that I might find some Hot Wheels treasure hunts, but that did not happen. Anyway, on to some pics! So, I was able to find three new Zamacs, the BMW 2002, the Ford GT, and the Dodge Charger, all very cool cars. I was worried that I would not be able to grab any of the BMW's anywhere, so that was cool. Only one of the four Walmarts in my area seems to get the cases with the Zamacs, so this was a win. While I did find those, the new dump bin at the same Walmart had the Beatles graphics for the Yellow Submarine, so as expected the set of six cars was inside, but someone had already snagged every single Kool Kombi from the bin. I found at least ten of each of the other cars, so I was able to snag the Mini Cooper, which is now also shown on the Mini Cooper page of the Hoard The Grey 2007 Mustang was and is cool, and as a huge Honda fan, I was very happy to get several of the Honda Odyssey Minivans! Last few for now....picked up the Modern Muscle Challenger awhile back and forgot to show it. Just got the error wheel Corvette out of a Walmart dump bin on Thursday, cool find! Lastly, the Playart Ferrari was a cool eBay win, only $4 shipped.
A great couple days of adding to the Hoard! We just keep getting more acceleracers! Here are some pics! The Piledriver is a fairly HTF item, and the Realm Colors Series RD-04 was part of the second series and is also a decently hard to find car as well, with very few of them coming up on Ebay. The RD-09 was missing from the Hoard, and the Rivited with 5 spoke co-mold wheels was also missing. We got a couple more Matchbox cars we have been after, including the Willys wagon from the Jeep series in a turquoise color. The Hot Wheels Nine Pack was strictly to get the Datsun 620 pickup in brown. We have a rule that if there are at least five cars in the pack that we would want in the collection, grab it! We are wondering if the white Acura will be a single pack car... Lastly, we managed to finally add some redlines to the Hoard. The Purple AMX/2 was a missing color, and the olive Vicky was an upgrade! We have a nice set of wheels to switch out the worn out wheels on the AMX/2...
Just got some newness into the Hoard. We have been starting a push to collect all of the single blister packs from the 2011 Hot Ones series. In the last week we acquired: --Plymouth Arrow blue --Morris Wagon white --El Rey Special black and green (the green is a chase vehicle) --Porsche 930 yellow --63 Corvette yellow --80's Firebird blue --Shelby Cobra light blue --Aeroflash chrome (chase) Here's a couple pics: Also had some success at a yard sale for the first time in years, picking up a Custom Crew Sledster for $2! Couldn't believe it. I was still mounted to it's display base, but was lacking the top and the box it came in... Last for now, we found many Hot Wheels at the stores locally over the last couple weeks. We just wanted to highlight a Kroger find, picking up three great cars, a couple BMW's and the very cool white Dodge Charger Hellcat... That's all for now pic-wise. We did manage to find and add a Double Header redline to our 73 Enamels collection and quite a few Majorette Vintage cars. More pics on those and more to come.
Keep Collecting! Just got a few new things in today. First off are two Acceleracers Hyperpods. These were larger plastic vehicles that came with one of the normal cars. There was a place to lock the smaller car into the Hyperpod for extended weapons. There were four different Hyperpods, these are two of those variations. I also received in a couple of odd pieces at good prices. The Hot Wheels 100% A Night at the Races is a cool set that I will be opening soon (stay tuned). The Jada Baller Haulers "Von Dutch" is the only 18 wheeler from that series that interests me, I was able to get it for under $8 total. More updates to come! Keep on collecting!
Got a bunch shopping locally and some via eBay and trades. Saw all of the Target exclusive Retro cars, only purchased the Toyota. Also found the display for the exclusive cards at target and picked up a number of cars. Got in a group from Facebook, won a couple on Ebay and bought a couple vans from Swifty's site. |
