Limited edition series and sets
Most years, Hot Wheels produces special cars that are shipped separately from the Mainline cars. As an example, the car to the right was part of the Pro Circuit Series from around 1990.
Sometimes these cars have premium wheels, or are completely cast in metal, or have licensed tampos. Another reason for the separation of series is for anniversary sets, as Hot Wheels has done 25th, 30th, 35th, and 40th anniversary sets. Like a lot of things with Hot Wheels, we feel like you just can't collect everything, so we get what we like! These sets will take time to get images and descriptions together, so stay tuned to this page for regular updates. |

recent mainline series sets
Since 2014, Hot Wheels has been shipping mainline priced cars on special cards in a separate series. Basically they are mainline cars, but they are targeting specific segments and the cards have special artwork. An example at the right is the Fast and Furious cars. which have been done twice in 2014 and 2015.
Many times these have been licensed cars, such as by manufacturer, say BMW, or with licensed deco, such as Superman or Tom and Jerry. We focus on real cars, so many of these have made it into the Hoard! And, since Hot Wheels continues to ship these segments, we will be adding to this section regularly. Some segments we may only have one car, others we will have many. |
