Leo India
With the advent of Ebay, many Hot Wheels collectors discovered that a ton of Black Wall era cars were produced in India in the 90's through the early 2000's. The variations were endless, and included several castings that had not been marketed at all in the US. Many of the cars have advertising tampos that are mystifying to North American collectors. Also, tampos from certain cars in the normal line were repurposed to other castings, creating some cool combos. Prices were reasonable in the early 2000's, but as heavy hitters got involved, the prices went crazy. There is very little supply and plenty of demand.
Another issue is that some of the muscle cars made it to India, so castings like the Neet Streeter, the Dixie Challenger, and a few others have become almost completely unaffordable. We have some of the cars here and will continue to add more the the hoard! |
